ADIPOR2 (adiponectin receptor protein 1) or PAQR2 (progestin and adipoQ receptor family member I) is a member of the ADIPOR family of 7-pass transmembrane (7-TM) proteins.  Contrary to G-protein coupled 7-TM receptors, the N-terminus of ADIPOR family member is cytoplasmic and the C-terminus is extracellular.  ADIPOR1 and ADIPOR2 act as receptors for adiponectin, a hormone secreted by adipocytes which regulates fatty acid catabolism and glucose levels. ADIPOR2 may form homooligomers and heterooligomers with ADIPOR1. ADIPOR1 has intermediate affinity for globular adiponectin and low affinity for full-length adiponectin. Binding of adiponectin to ADIPOR1 results in activation of signaling cascade that leads to increased AMPK and PPAR-alpha activities, and ultimately to increased fatty acid oxidation, increased glucose uptake and decreased gluconeogenesis.  ADIPOR2 is also required for normal revascularization after chronic ischemia caused by severing of blood vessels.

Construct Details: Full length human ADIPOR2 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
