ART5 belongs to the arginine-specific ADP-ribosyltransferase familya and may act as a NAD(P)(+)-arginine ADP-ribosyltransferase. ART5 contains a mono-ADP-ribosylation (ART) motif that may catalyze the ADP-ribosylation of arginine residues in proteins. Mono-ADP-ribosylation is a posttranslational modification of proteins that is interfered with by a variety of bacterial toxins including cholera, pertussis, and heat-labile enterotoxins of E. coli. ART5 may regulate the function of target proteins by attaching ADP-ribose to specific amino acid residues in their target proteins. Unlike other family members, ART5 lacks a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchor signal sequence and is predicted to be a secretory enzyme.

Construct Details: Full length human ART5 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without an antibiotic selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
