KLK2 (Kallikrein-2) is a member of the grandular kallikrein protein subfamily of the peptidase S1 family. Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases clustered on chromosome 19. Members of this family are involved in a diverse array of biological functions. KLK2 is a highly active trypsin-like serine protease that selectively cleaves at arginine residues.  It cleaves Met-Lys and Arg-Ser bonds in kininogen to release Lys-bradykinin. KLK2 is primarily expressed in prostatic tissue and is responsible for cleaving pro-prostate-specific antigen into its enzymatically active form. The KLK2 gene is highly expressed in prostate cancer cells and may serve as a prognostic maker for prostate cancer.

Construct Details: Full length human KLK2 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
