Description

AGRE2 is a 7 transmembrane (7TM) receptor belonging to the secretin receptor family, which is also known as family B or 2 of the G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Many members of this family are receptors for peptide hormones from the glucagon hormone family and regulate the activation of two major signal transduction pathways: adenylyl cyclase (cAMP) and phosphatidylinositol-calcium pathways. ADRE2 is characterized by an extended extracellular region with a variable number of N-terminal epidermal growth factor-like domains coupled to a 7TM domain via a mucin-like spacer domain. AGRE2 may be autoproteolytically cleaved into 2 subunits, an extracellular alpha subunit and a 7TM beta subunit.  ADRE2 is expressed mainly in myeloid cells where it promotes cell-cell adhesion through interaction with the chondroitin sulfate moiety of glycosaminoglycan chains. ADRE2 is thought to promote granulocyte chemotaxis, degranulation and adhesion. In macrophages, it induces the release of inflammatory cytokines, including IL8 and TNF.

Primers: Gene insert coding sequence can be confirmed by following primers:

(a) forward (or 5'-end) primer: 5’-CAAATGGGCGGTAGGCGTG-3’;

(b) reverse (or 3'-end) primer: 5’-CCAGGTTTCCGGGCCCTCAC-3’

Note: The sequence may vary due to the naturally occurring variants or mutations, such as single nucleotide polymorphism, or the artifact during PCR amplification.  High fidelity PCR systems should always be used.
