Description

ULBP4 (UL16 binding protein 4) is a ligand of natural killer group 2, member D (NKG2D), an immune system-activating receptor on NK cells and T-cells. ULBP4 differs from other ULBP proteins in that is is a single-pass type I transmembrane protein rather than GPI-anchored glycoprotein. ULBP4 belongs to the MHC-I family of Immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF). ULBP4 binds to NKG2D but does not interacts with the CMV glycoprotein UL16.  Binding of the ligand ULBP4 to NKG2D leads to activation of several signal transduction pathways, including those of JAK2, STAT5, ERK and PI3K kinase/Akt, resulting in the production of cytokines and chemokines. ULBP4 delivers activating signals to NK cells and promotes tumor immune surveillance by inducing the expansion of anti-tumor cytotoxic lymphocytes.

Construct Details: Full length human ULBP4 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles.

Formulation: Supplied with 10 μg of endotoxin-free plasmid DNA at 200 ng/μl in sterile TE buffer (pH8.0)

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
