EMB or Embigin is a 327 amino acid (aa) single pass type I transmembrane protein of the Basigin family of the Immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF).  BEMB contains an N-terminal signal peptide, a 228-aa extracellular domain (ECD) with 2 Ig-like V-type domains and 9 potential N-linked glycosylation sites, a transmembrane domain (TM), and a 46-aa cytoplasmic tail.  EMB may be involved in cell growth and development by mediating interactions between the cell and extracellular matrix. EMB plays a role in the outgrowth of motoneurons and in the formation of neuromuscular junctions. EMB  may play a role in targeting the monocarboxylate transporters SLC16A1 and SLC16A7 to the cell membrane.

Construct Details: Full length human EMB gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without an antibiotics selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
