Description

IL18RAP (interleukin-18 receptor accessory protein), also known as IL1R7, IL18Rbeta and CD218b, is a single-pass, type I transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor (IL1R) family. Unlike other family members, IL18RAP contain only 2 immunoglobulin (Ig)-like domains in the extracellular region and an intracellular TIR (Toll-like receptor/IL-1 receptor) signaling domain that is also conserved in the Toll-like receptor family. IL18RAP is an accessory subunit of the heterodimeric receptor for IL18, a proinflammatory cytokine involved in inducing cell-mediated immunity. IL18RAP enhances the IL18-binding activity of the IL18 receptor and plays a role in signaling by IL18. Within the IL18 receptor complex, IL18RAP does not mediate IL18-binding, but involved in IL18-dependent signal transduction, leading to NF-kappa-B and JNK activation. Mutations in the IL18RAP gene are associated with Crohn's disease and inflammatory bowel disease, and susceptibility to celiac disease and leprosy.

Primers: Gene insert coding sequence can be confirmed by following primers:

(a) forward (or 5'-end) primer: 5’-CAAATGGGCGGTAGGCGTG-3’;

(b) reverse (or 3'-end) primer: 5’-CCAGGTTTCCGGGCCCTCAC-3’

Note: The sequence may vary due to the naturally occurring variants or mutations, such as single nucleotide polymorphism, or the artifact during PCR amplification.  High fidelity PCR systems should always be used.
